How do I find scholarly / peer-reviewed articles?

Finding Scholarly / Peer-Reviewed Articles

There are 3 main ways to find scholarly / peer-reviewed articles:

1. OneSearch can be used from the library's website to find books, ebooks, articles and more. Learn more

2. Databases are provided by the library and can be accessed through the library's website to authenticate and gain access as a Cal Poly Humboldt student or employee. Search for Databases by Discipline or subject to determine which databases fit your particular research needs. If you know the name of the journal you want to search, use the Library's Journal Search to find out if we have access.

3. Google Scholar searches for articles and other scholarly publications across the web. You may hit a paywall using Google Scholar, but you can set up a Cal Poly Humboldt Library link, visible from the article's citation, that takes you to the library's holdings. To see how this works, view this short video.

OneSearch and most article databases have an option to limit your results to only peer-reviewed sources. To learn more about how to find scholarly, peer-reviewed articles and other sources for your research, enroll in the Library's Skillshops, available on Canvas, including:
