I'm only supposed to use print or non-internet sources. Where can I find those?

Answer

Did your instructor ask you not to use internet or online sources?

The library has access to many more online journal and magazine articles than articles in print. However, you may have an assignment where the instructor asks you not to use "online" or "internet" sources. Here are some approaches for handling this:

Check the requirements of the assignment.

Does the professor mean that you are not allowed to use any sources from the open web, but you are still allowed to use online articles from scholarly journals? If this is the case, just make sure your sources are peer-reviewed. See How can I tell if an article is scholarly or peer-reviewed?

Find print journals by title.

If you really need print journals, you can search for individual journals by title or subject to see if we have any in print. Most will indicate "Online access," but those that have a call number can be found on the library's shelves. You may want to ask your instructor for a list of journals they recommend.

Use OneSearch filters.

Start your search in OneSearch, then use the filters at left to limit your results to those that are "Available in the Library."

OneSearch filters related to availability

You will probably see mostly books. But if you need journal articles, you can use another filter to limit your results to "Journals." This will show print journals which you can find by call number.
