Where do I find news articles and newspapers?
Answer
The Library subscribes to a number of newspaper databases, both current and historical. There are a few approaches to finding newspaper articles.
Search for articles
Databases dedicated to newspaper articles are the best way to search for articles on a topic of interest.
- Start at the library homepage.
- Choose "Databases by Subject," and select Newspapers to see the newspaper databases. U.S. Newsstream is a good choice for current U.S. news.
Find a specific newspaper
You can also check to see if the library has access to a specific newspaper.
- From the library homepage, choose Journals By Title.
- Search for the title of the newspaper. If the library provides access to that newspaper, it should appear in the search results.
- Select the newspaper title to find links for online access or information on print or microform copies.
Current news articles can be found online through newspaper websites like New York Times, Los Angeles Times, NPR, Fresno Bee, or a news aggregator like Google News.
