How do I look up ratios for a company or an industry?
Answer
Here are some library databases and websites you can use to find financial ratios for companies and industries.
Library Resources (login with your Bronco name and password if you are off campus):
- RMA e-Statement Studies: Look up an industry by keyword (example: shoes) or by NAICS (example: 448210 Shoe Stores). More info on the RMA website.
- First Research Industry Profiles (via the ABI/Inform database): search for an industry (example: computers) and click on the Full-Text PDF to open a report. Scroll to the end of the report for the ratios.
- Mergent Online: Search for a company using its stock symbol or name. Click on the Company Financials tab and choose Ratios.
- S&P's NetAdvantage: Click on an industry report. Links to the ratios are at the top of the report.
Websites:
- Bizstats.com: Browse through lists of industries. Does not include ratios for the most recent years.
- Yahoo Finance: Find a company using its stock symbol or name. Includes a small number of ratios for industries.
