Does the Library have ANSI standards?

Answer

The Library has a few ANSI standards but does not purchase them on a regular basis. There are over 10,000 ANSI standards and many cost several hundred dollars. The Library does purchase ANSI standards when requested if the budget allows.

Be sure to get the standard number and title of the standard you need. Examples:

  • ANSI Z315.1-2006 American National Standard for Tricycles - Safety Requirements
  • ANSI/ASME B31.1-2007 Power Piping

Try searching for the standard you need in  OneSearch. Search on the standard number or title or use words from the title to do a keyword search.

To find the standard number and/or title use one of these websites:

Searching for standards can be complicated. Contact the Engineering Librarian for assistance. Options for obtaining standards not owned by the Library include using Document Delivery or making a purchase request.

See the Standards and Codes guide for more information about ANSI and other standards.
