How can I tell if a particular journal is Scholarly or Academic? I have the title of the journal.

Answer

If you have the title of the journal, then you can determine if it is scholarly or academic by searching the Ulrichsweb database:

Go to the Database Pages under the letter "U" to find Ulrichsweb:

Look up your journal in Ulrichsweb; Type in the title, and click the green search icon.

Under the Content Type heading look for the notation  Academic/Scholarly, which indicates whether or not it is scholarly or academic. Screeh shot of record for a journal showing document type: academic/Scholarly
