What are the different study areas within the Library?
Answer
The University Library has designated areas for general study, group study, and quiet study.
General Study Spaces provide you with carrels, tables, and computer workstations for individual and collaborative study.
- Locations: 2nd, 3rd, 4th floors, and the Bronco Computer Lab on the 1st floor.
Group Study Rooms, 41 rooms in all, offer an enclosed area to conduct group work or a study group. The rooms are equipped with a table, chairs, display monitor, and whiteboard, with some exceptions noted below. Group study rooms can be reserved by using our Online Reservation System.
- Locations: 2nd, 3rd, 4th, 5th, and 6th floors.
- Whiteboards are not available in the rooms on the 2nd floor.
- A display monitor is not available in rooms 4533 and 6919E.
Quiet Floors - Floors 1, 5, and 6 are designated as quiet floors. When you exit the elevators or stairwells on these floors, signs alert you that these are the quiet floors. We ask that patrons keep talking to a minimum, set their cell phone to vibrate/mute, and use headphones with electronic devices. Group Study Rooms are not soundproof, so please be respectful of others and quiet when entering and leaving study rooms on the quiet floors. Noise complaints can be reported to the 2nd Floor Circulation Desk via email at libcirc@cpp.edu or via text at 909-365-1545.
